Nacaps to enter the next phase

Funding approved for three further years by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research

In January 2020 the second funding phase of the National Academics Panel Study (Nacaps) has started. From 2017 to 2019 the GermanFederal Ministry of Education and Research has funded the first stage of the longitudinal study which encompassed the development and implementation of a first survey in 2019. The funding of three further years has now been approved.

In March 2020 the first of a series follow-up surveys will be conducted to gain a longitudinal perspective on the career paths of doctoral candidates. To attain a full picture of the doctorate landscape in Germany, moreover, new cohorts of doctoral candidates will be invited to answer the surveys and thus become part of the panel. Furthermore an already existing panel study about doctorate holders will be integrated into Nacaps. An overview about the study design can be found here .

The results of the first survey can be accessed via a data portal by the end of February.
